The motoring press have been quick to lavish praise on the supercar: Jeremy Clarkson exclaimed: "I know this car is £170,000 but I don't care, I don't care if this car eats one of my legs. The Ferrari 458 is one of the all time greats. It really is absolutely, unbelievably, mesmerizingly brilliant" Autoexpress said: "The technology-laden new 458 Italia is an engineering triumph, with an excellent V8 engine, brilliant handling and quintessential Ferrari looks." James May (Top Gear) said: "It’s a better car than my old F430 in every single way. It’s really bloody annoying" EVO said: "I can't believe how far Ferrari have taken it. . . . . it's go any time, any place performance" CAR magazine said: "No doubt about it, this is the most rounded supercar you can currently buy and is likely to remain so. . . . Is the 458 Italia really worth an estimated £60k more than an Audi R8 V10? Judging by the number of five-star ratings in our spec sheet, yes. If you can afford the Ferrari, it is the better car and we’d definitely recommend the premium." AUTOCAR magazine said: "If you can run to the estimated £170,000 Ferrari is asking, there are few reasons not to. The price may be higher than the old F430, but the 458 is a much more complete package." Fifth Gear said: "Epic. . . " |

The Ferrari 458 is clearly a new chapter for Ferrari. Sat in the pitlane the car looks so futuristic it could almost be a concept car, thankfully it isn't. Open the drivers door and peak inside, the interior goes a step further than the exterior and is beautifully put together. The design is completely new. The steering wheel takes on a greater F1 Ferrari could have easily produced a design tweaked version of the F430 as a safe bet. This new car however is bold and beautiful, stunning to drive and hugely satisfying. |
